Grades 2-5 also meet during the 10:00 AM Sunday morning service. Kids begin the service with their families and are dismissed prior to the sermon. They are using a combination of the Middle Grade curriculum from Concordia Publishing House and Bible Blitz curriculum from Group Publishing. With lessons drawn directly from the Bible, kids discuss biblical truths and apply what they learn in engaging projects and learning games.
Middle & Senior High School Youth
At 6:30 pm the middle school and high school students gather together for an ice breaker game. Then Pastor Nathan Lewis leads us in music and announcements before we break up for a Scriptural Lesson. Doug and Liane Quakkelaar take the high school youth to discuss topics of interest like “Lasting Relationships” and “Evolution vs. Creation.” Randy Watermolen works with the middle school youth on the fundamental lessons of Christianity. The 8th grade students spend one Wednesday a month with Pastor Nathan Lewis in preparation for their confirmation in May. On those days, Beverly Engineer teaches the remaining 6th & 7th grade girls about becoming a woman of Christ. Some highlights of this summer’s & fall’s activities include:
Confirmation Program Our confirmation program is geared toward 7th and 8th grade students. They join the Middle & High School Youth on Wednesday evenings for supper, fellowship, music and devotion time. The youth are taught Biblical teachings and how to teach and share these teaching with their friends. They learn how to use their Bibles as a tool for their own future growth and a tool to share God’s Word with others.
