At Prince of Peace, we enjoy many opportunities to grow together as a body of Christ. We encourage you to get involved in some of the following events for fellowship with your church and your community. Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) meets at Prince of Peace church on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, in the months of September through the end of April. See the MOPS page for more details. Women’s Ministry Fellowship Gatherings, the women of Prince of Peace meet every Tuesday morning, 8:30 am, for breakfast at My Sister’s Café on 325 N. 3rd Avenue in Sturgeon Bay. We also meet once a quarter for a Potluck Supper to share a meal, devotion and a fun activity. Watch the monthly calendar for the next supper. Men’s Ministry Fellowship Gatherings, the men of Prince of Peace meet every Wednesday morning, 8:30 am, for breakfast at My Sister’s Café on 325 N. 3rd Avenue in Sturgeon Bay. The Master’s Cup Coffee House is open to public and members, Monday thru Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and Live Music on Friday evenings from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The Coffee House is self serve with regular and decaf coffee, flavored syrups, a selection of teas, cappuccino machine, and an assortment of cold drinks in the refrigerator. There is also a variety of packaged snacks on the counter and in the freezer. There is a donation box and the suggested donation is .50 to $1.50. The proceeds from the Coffee House will be given to Missions and community organizations. Everyone is welcome to stop for a beverage, snack and enjoy the library or just visit with a friend. The Coffee House is great for fellowship before and after worship services, concerts and other events. August 8, 2008: The BlenDOORs Concert – 7:00 pm, Refreshments during intermission. Three years ago 12 singers from The Peninsula Chamber Singers and additional backgrounds to create a new performing group. What developed is a unique, mixed voice, triple quartet with a growing reputation for excellence. Their repertoire of Sacred, Secular, Spiritual, Patriotic, Show tunes and Specialty numbers gives them the versatility to please all lovers of Choral music. August 22, 2008: Marti Spittel Ziegelbauer, Speaker (7:00 pm) and Dinner (6:00 pm) In 1998, Marti was diagnosed with late stage Cervical Cancer. Invasive, radical surgery was needed to save her life. Now, Marti and her husband Gary, they are helping to save other women’s lives. Their foundation, MSZ Foundation provides free Gynecologic Cancer Screenings to women who cannot afford these necessary medical tests, and for women who do not have adequate health insurance. For more details on the foundation, go to www.freepapsmear.org September 6, 2008: Jana Holland Concert – 7:00 pm, Refreshments during intermission. Jana Holland has been instilled with a rich heritage of song and spirit from her Grandmother Grace and her Mother, Judy Price. She began to write after having her daughter in 1996. In her writings, she shares her life journey, offering an emotional, intellectual and spiritual response to deeply moving issues. Recently joining Jana is husband, Craig Holland. A gifted musician/guitarist, Craig has a long history of performing and recording. For more information, go to www.janahollandmusic.com September 26, 2008: Dave Kapp, Piano Concert in Coffee House – 7:30 pm Dave Kapp is the Worship Leader for a congregation of 8,000 members at Hales Corner Lutheran Church in Hales Corner, WI. We look forward to him spending the weekend with us at Prince of Peace Church. November 26, 2008: Thanksgiving Eve Service (6:00 pm) and Pie Fest (7:00 pm) We start the evening by praising and giving Thanks to our God for His many blessings. Each family is encouraged to bring a pie or dessert. After worship, everyone will join in a smorgasbord of pies. Fun fellowship and a great way to kick off the feasting of Thanksgiving. December 7, 2008: Advent by Candlelight Celebration – 4:00 pm This years event will be held at Prince of Peace Church in the new Sanctuary and Fellowship/Coffee House. December 14, 2008: Special Christmas Worship Concert – 10:00 am December 21, 2008: Christmas Cantata – 10:00 am This special service of music and Scripture will focus on the Christmas Story and God’s Gift of Love in Jesus Christ. Please join our musicians (choir, youth/children and instrumentalists) in our celebration of Jesus’ birth. December 24, 2008: Christmas Eve Service – 6:00 pm Christmas Day – No worship service Please note: There will not be Saturday evening worship services during the month of December. Everyone is encouraged to attend the special worship services.
